A bit about me…

I have always been involved in sport and an active lifestyle from an early age, particularly Football.

I was lucky enough to have played to a high level, but unfortunately, my career came to an abrupt end at the age of 27 through a serious knee injury.

Throughout my life, I have always combined my love for sport with a keen interest in fuelling my entrepreneurial spirit – starting my first venture at seventeen. I have subsequently built and sold three successful businesses since.

I am a strong believer that a positive attitude can drive a successful outcome. Having undergone numerous reconstructive surgeries following my knee injury, I needed to focus my energy in a positive way. I decided to become a coach and help other people achieve their goals. and I have done so ever since.

Developing and retaining a positive mind state is a real passion and is something I actively encourage to the people I meet and clients I work with. Whether the goal is improving strength, conditioning the body, running a marathon or weight loss if you “believe” you can do it – you will.

I have and continue to work with the FA, Yeovil Town FC, and Bristol City FC as a coach educator in partnership with Bridgwater College. I also work with an amazing team here at the Gryphon, which fuels my business and coaching passions and, together, we are intent on providing a positive, welcoming and supportive environment; One where our community are able to enjoy their chosen activity and achieve their goals.

We often hear the reason for not having an active lifestyle is that they don’t know where to begin, or have difficulty getting started. Using one of our coaches is a great way to do just that. They’ll show you how to use the equipment, how to set achievable goals and they’ll support you throughout your journey.

A bit about me…

I never really thought about fitness until I hit 30. I played amateur football for 13 years so that had kept me pretty active. When that stopped I needed something to improve my fitness, health and wellbeing. Something to relax me after a pretty full on 9-5, five days a week job.

So I took up running, nothing too fancy, but steadily building up to around 10k distance twice a week. But the competitor in me wasn’t stopping there…..

My interest in exercise and training grew and a possible change of career beckoned. Recovering from serious illness and with the arrival of my daughter I couldn’t (wouldn’t!!) be that older Dad sitting on the couch.

They say running is one of the easiest forms of exercise so I taught myself to run further, better, stronger. Before I knew it I was running half marathons, then full marathons, my daughter, then 4 years old saw me complete the New York Marathon in 2008.

In 2010 I successfully passed my Level 3 Personal Training and Fitness Instruction qualifications. From there I embarked on a new career of fitness and personal training, some gym based and some mobile on a one to one basis.

I have worked with a huge variety of clients over these last few years, from those who just want to lose a little weight and improve their health to those competing in events such as marathons and triathlons…. and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

Now here at the Gryphon Sports Centre, we are fully focused on helping you achieve your personal fitness goals while establishing the Centre as the premium sports and fitness Centre in the area.

A bit about me…

I am a level 3 personal training coach. I have been working in the fitness industry for over 10 years now and I have worked with many people with different goals and abilities.

From helping an individual with mobility, to working on building up certain muscles for events and helping clients lose weight successfully and healthily – so far my single biggest weight loss client is 8 stone!

I run group, small groups and 1-1 programs helping individuals with not only fitness but food and lifestyle as well. 

 

I have always wanted to be in the fitness industry, ever since I can remember and apparently when I was younger even at the age of 3/4 everyone found it hard to keep up with me and all I wanted to do was run! 

I LOVE quick sprints and my weights/resistance workouts! I HATE long distance running and leave that to coach Chris! My speciality is HIIT workouts! 

 

My absolute food love is chocolate cereal!
